We set these up differently as opposed to how we tune the Golf R’s and S3’s with them being FWD, capped boost in 1st and 2nd to help with traction, 1-1 pedal demand to allow for maximum pedal control due to the way these are setup from factory, LC RPM lowered compared to factory to help with spinning when launching as well as lower boost request during LC. All of these combined really make FWD a lot more fun instead of just spinning everywhere. With the TCU being tuned as well, this allows for more clutch pressure, true manual mode to prevent the car from upshifting by itself whilst using the paddles, shift speeds adjusted to allow for seamless shifting and torque limiters raised to allow for more torque to be made whilst tuning it. Nice amount of volume between Stock and Stage 1 with peak power further in the rev range! We also enhanced DSG farts as well as crackles in Cupra mode. On the road this was spot on, pulling all the way to redline and gripping as much as possible in the lower gears 👌🏻 We do love tuning EA888s and always will as they rarely have any problems when it comes to tuning and always respond so well 🫶🏼 also i don’t know why the colours of the writing at the bottom are different to the top 🤷🏼‍♂️

Poorly written software, inconsistent changes and areas that simply didn’t make sense. We may not have uncovered every underlying issue with the vehicle, but we certainly gave it back the power it had lost and a setup that actually works properly. On the road this was night and day with another 87bhp and 174nm pulling all the way through the rev range and shifting seamlessly. A pleasure to drive this one, definitely going to be needing rear tyres a lot more frequently now 😅

ken it to a local dyno tuning centre and was told it had gained less than 10HP. Whether it even made that is unclear, as the vehicle was never actually tested on a dyno despite the customer asking for it. Shortly after, the car started smoking and behaving strangely. Despite trying to get it resolved, the original tuner was unwilling or unable to help. We carried out a free initial assessment. Straight away a few things stood out. The DPF differential pressure sensor had been unplugged and taped up, with no fault codes present. Soot at the tailpipe suggested the DPF was no longer doing anything useful. So the obvious question is… Why was the customer not made aware the DPF had effectively been disabled? Why wasn't the customer told it had already been remapped/modified? Then we looked further...... Oil around the throttle body area Excessive oil present in the intake With the intake pipe removed and the engine revved, oil was being pushed through heavily, exactly what you can see in the photo. At that point it was clear. Turbo seals have failed, allowing the engine to pull oil into the intake. The strange revving behaviour the customer noticed now makes sense, the engine was effectively trying to run on its own oil, with the ECU trying to control it. Which raises another question… Why was no live data taken before tuning to check the health of the turbo? And why was there no proper support offered once the problem started? We could detect all that from a visual inspection, why couldnt the other tuner? Ok maybe they missed it at the time of tuning, but when someone reports an issue why not examine the vehicle and spend all of 5 minutes on it like us to determine the issue. This is not something you fix with a “remap” which the customer had hopped for. This is exactly why proper diagnostics and proper process matter. We did not charge the customer for the initial assessment. We believe in being fair and actually helping people understand what is going on with their vehicle. So to be clear: Yes, we offer a free initial assessment Yes, we do far more than just basic tuning And yes, we support what we do after the work is done If something is wrong, we will help you find out why, not ignore it and hope it goes away. decided to come back to us to fit a FORGE actuator and stage 2 tuning Their dyno printout showed 220bhp and 360nm which is close to what it dyno’d at on ours in regards to BHP. There was nothing wrong with their map and logs showed that it was healthy and tuned well 👌🏻 Once ran up on previous tuner’s file, we then put the vehicle back to stock software to get a base line of what the vehicle was producing in stock form (plus the mods). This showed it to be running healthy with good figures being made. Onto our tuning, after around 6 revisions we got this to perfection, with logs spot on and car making some solid figures! The main focus was the volume and drive ability compared to the other map as opposed to what it was like in stock form (as this is the difference which the customer feels) broadening the torque range and a stronger powerband pulling hard through the rev range 👊🏼 Once done, this felt amazing on the road and with it being a dry day was gripping very well!
