We initially put it on the dyno but turns out the car was too low to fit on due to the subframe hitting the rollers 🤦🏼‍♂️ So we decided to road tune it meticulously logging data to get the most of out of it whilst retaining safety. We had to do this one in BOOT mode which isn’t what you usually want to do but it had to be done 😂 this meant that any adjustments took longer than usual but it’s part of the process! Figures based off data logs: 141bhp -> 163bhp 186nm -> 212nm Throttle response, mid range and top end power now a lot better 💪🏻

3D printed Throttle body adapter , Aluminium SLM. Little bit of post processing for the threaded holes ( Drill and Tap ) . And I did skim 0.1mm from one of the faces to clean. But otherwise, very functional and usable part, all within the usual sort of costing of a one off for subtractive machining. It can be noted the design was for subtractive machining as used previously. But could definitely be refined, and optimised for additive. Came out well, functional part destined for the race track 😎.

Ignitron ecu, CEPA TTRS 5cy engine l.. not words usually associated with each other but here is one, built by TT Spares. Matts car. Stock engine, stock MK1 TTQS exhaust, catalyst fitted, converted to port injection. 1.2bar boost tailing to 1bar past 6krpm, duty cycle 95%, so suspect tired actuator. Over 300lbft from just 2500rpm will ensure it pulls well. This is its first iteration and base build, so stay tuned with the TTSpares guys for its continued development.

👀. We know the market need is still there for a high flow K04 manifold, and we’re not ignoring it. There has been on going design work for the last year or so, but it’s a project that only gets picked up out of normal working hours, when personal time allows! We’re still exploring the feasibility of this when it comes to the production and investment. And there are other avenues/ leads we’re currently looking at as well. Long live the 20v.

Here we have James' BMW 335 XDrive in for hardware fitting + Stage 2 ECU + TCU on the dyno This had an Uprated Intercooler, brake discs and pads front and rear, gearbox service, engine service. Once all of this was done, onto the dyno we went to see what we could get out of it. With this being XDrive we had to use a software called XDelete which allows you to switch to RWD on these models, This allows us to run the vehicle up to see what it is making before and after the tuning session and then switch it back to xDrive without any issues. With this still having DPF in place, it did limit us compared to a Stage 2 that would have a DPF gutted or a downpipe but James wanted the extra power whilst retaining the road legal side of things (I don't blame him lol). We also carried out our Stage 2 TCU which improves the gearbox massively including: Torque limiters raised to allow for more torque to be produced, Gear display, Quicker shifts, Clutch Parameters, Oil Pressure Management and to top it off some nice torque punch on upshifts when giving it some beans! This made some pretty solid figures and a WHOLE bunch of torque which I'm sure will be enough for James!

Sams new toy that he wasn’t even used to stock power in for stage 1 on the dyno with backbox mod as well This made a bit less than stock quoted figures which isn’t as rare as you’d think! This took around 7 revisions to get perfect and was an absolute animal on the road and surprisingly hooked pretty well even in damp conditions and the extra power the graphs may look the smoothest but boy did this feel nice and linear on the road pulling all the way till redline. Once collected one of the first messages from sam was: “it’s ******* rapid” 😂 This was an all rounded good example of an M3 with no issues when it came to tuning and it allowed us to write OBD which is always a success with the ecu being hidden and a ballache to pin out, especially with bad eyes running in the family 🤦🏼‍♂️
