Had a booking at 1pm on 8th August. Fitted it in on a holiday over from Germany. Place was locked up. No one came. This is a scam. Do your research and see latest info. No idea how i will get my deposit back. Bitterly disappointed and hope people will read this and avoid this place.

Booked in 2 weeks ago, turned up to find a locked unit, no answer to phone calls or emails. Scammed out of deposit. Read on forums afterwards this is common thing, all told out of pocket for a deposit taking a day off work and fuel for a 200 mile round trip. Avoid

Had a terrible experience here. First got there, met up, asked if he wanted me to pull my car in, came out with some clever comment asking if i had 200k in my bank to pay for a dyno if i did it wrong...!? Didnt ask what i was expecting from the remap, didnt ask what i would like, didnt ask what i use it for, if i tow etc. When i asked what it would make, he said 'it makes what it makes'. Told me to go for a walk for 6 hours and he would ring me when it was sorted. No seating no brew room nowhere to wait nothing. Just said walk for 3 hours then turn around and walk back... I rang him initially to ask about removing my dpf before the remap. He advised against it...which is obviously laughable advise. I said that darkside developments suggested i should remove it. To which i got a 5 minute slagging off of their company.....very unprofessional, it was clearly a sore subject for some reason. The remap itself suppose i cant complain, however was told £600+vat which magicaly turned into about £670+ vat. Offered a gear box remap....however when i said it runs better in sport he gave a clear look of 'oh i didnt even know it had sport'......! Very last thing, i had a sensor go shortly after, rang purely for abit of advise on a fault code. The second I mentioned i was ringing about a car i had done, he was on the immediate defensive. 'That sensor is nothing to do with me' which of course i knew, but it just gave the strong impression that you would be pissing into the wind to return a car to him. Not sure if this is the service he gives everyone or whether he just thought i didnt have a clue what i was talking about. Mines the black amarok on his facebook page.

This is the second time i have used pendle performance, going back to Martin with a t4 2.5 88bhp and leaving his place with 138bhp and another 100 of torque, what a difference, loved the 400 mile journey back home, big big difference to the journey going down.thanks Martin, top job.

Just want to say a big thank you to Martin. I bought a Vito 114 (140bhp) in January to replace a 2007 109 cdi which I had for many years and loved it, hence the upgrade. Unfortunately the euro 6 engine of the 114 variation didn't feel anything as good as my old 230,000 mile van!!! Until that is... when Martin did his magic!! It drives bloody lovely now, I have a couple of 0-60 mid 4 second motors and they're pretty quick but that is tuned petrol engines for you, They are more explosive, the van being diesel and a lot heavier and more wind resistance benefits hugely in the torque that's transmitted throughout the drivetrain, it pulls so much better at lower rpm, you have to remember bhp is what will get you to an object quicker but it is the torque that determines how far it will push through that object!! I read through the reviews before I took it in, even though I had known people who had already had vehicles done, including a mechanic workmate who had his Transporter done 8 years ago and its still going strong. One thing I noticed was a few people saying Martin was rude etc, etc. I personally thought he was a decent bloke, yes he is quite direct in his approach and obviously been doing this a long time and doesn't suffer fools. I'd say it is well worth the money, go and drop your motor off and explore the town and maybe a walk in the hills or along the canal, it'll be worth every minute 🙂 Thanks Martin, I'll no doubt see you again in the future should I need another vehicle doing. all the best. As an I.T. technician for the past 34 years I found customer relations and communication is equally as important as technical competence. I note from all the past reviews it's like 'Marmite' either 1 or 5 star reviews, mainly due to being unable to interface with his customer base. If his technical competence were the same as his communication skills he would have long been out of business. I had my VW T4 Tdi remapped in July 22, I called the next day to inform him that he'd removed parts from my engine bay and forgot to put them back, then hit by an earful of foul mouthed invective. Then, when querying an issue with cold start that only occurred after the remap being called a liar, and more foul mouthed language. As a paying customer we expect and deserve better treatment than this. I'm also out of pocket for to having to replace the parts that he should be responsible for. I would NOT recommend such a rude and abusive person to anyone.

TERRIBLE SALES, TERRABLE SERVICE AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Martin is the typical "northern gym owner," a verbal bully with delusions of grandeur. After collecting my car I found the vehicle was low on boost, fuel rail pressure and the general response had been backed off to a point I had to drop a cog drive up any hill. When I confronted the man this is where things changed. I called him out on his technical ability and then received a barrage of abuse and threats of violence and threats against my personal safety. This does not surprise me, unfortunately, after reading some of these reviews. I requested a "custom map on my vehicle, which was apparently carried out. The man is a complete coward, and hides behind his steroid fuelled delusions. Sadly will never recomend this animal.

I was able to book an appt for a bank holiday, which I didn't realise until 2 weeks before I was due to travel down from Scotland. Unable to contact Martin for 2 whole weeks, this resulted in email ping pong where Martin called me, amongst other things, an "utter idiot" and asked me to phone him and apologise for something which was entirely his own doing. Appealed my deposit fee through my credit card provider and, unsurprisingly, won. The worst customer service I have ever experienced by a margin.
