Had my S3 convertible upgraded to stage 1+ (400ps/400 torque). All i can say is excellent as per everyone elses reviews and Sarah's customer support is fantastic.

MRC carried out stage 2 remap and gearbox map on my S3, had a few issues but the guys went above and beyond to rectify these and my car left there very well equipt for the power and safe. Highly recommend

Highly recommend these guys if you have any VAG! I took my Beast in for a general health check after a colleague highly recommended them, and I’m so glad I did. They even kindly offered me a lift back, which was a great touch. There was initially an issue with the injectors, but after a thorough check and carbon clean, everything came out fine. The difference is amazing! The whole team were fantastic, especially Sarah on reception. Her knowledge, advice and friendly approach are second to none — you can’t help but love dealing with her! I’m still getting used to the extra power and torque gains, but I’m absolutely loving it. And best of all… no more noisy cold starts! 😁🔥 Massive thanks to the whole team. Great service, great knowledge and great results. Highly recommended! 👌🏽

I literally drove in just have a chat this morning as I had a day off, see the workshop and discuss a Stage 1 ecu and tcu remap on my supercharged S4 and perhaps book an appointment in August or September. After chatting with Nicholas, at reception in depth about the benefits of Stage 1 & 2 i asked how far in advance I need to book he said ‘When do you want it done?’ I jokingly said how about now 😂😂? Give me your keys, I’m on it ! I was super impressed with the environment and after a couple of dyno runs (my car sounded immense in reception!) I was heading home the long way! Can’t wait to stretch its legs 🏎️

Outstanding! Booked my Audi R8 in with MRC for a Major service along with gearbox and diff oil changes, fast responses to my emails, updated on progress while the car was there, due to work I had to collect a few days later, to find the car was freshly valeted and ready to go. Invoice and inspection printed out and placed inside a wallet, really professional and polite staff! Highly recommended and they’ll be seeing my Audi R8 again when it needs work. After trusting them to put on my Miltek catback exhaust, this is what I got when they left the exhaust too close to the diffuser and denied being responsible. After pushing them, Doug agreed to pay for the tips and diffuser and told me "not to bring my car back again." In response, I told them to keep their money, and they'd never see me again. They're super friendly when you're paying, but when they mess something up, then you'll see their true colors. REPLY TO MRC - Yes i have the recording on my phone, our call was recorded, Andy the receptionist passed the message on. " Doug will pay for the exhaust tips & diffuser, but dont bring your car back", i will gladly share, if you like? The catback exhaust system came from Awesome Gti in manchester and i only got it from there as they had a coupon and was £350 cheaper than yourselfs, are you stating Awesome Gti suppled a defective part? And finally, i only came back for the thermostat and water pump because like an fool I'd left a deposit for the parts, and i knew i wouldnt get my deposit back.

Not very happy – disappointing long-term experience (Stage 2 ECU/TCU on Audi S3 8V) My initial experience with MRC Tuning was reasonably positive. Customer service during the enquiry stage was okay, and they recommended new coil packs and spark plugs before tuning. However, I felt the quoted price for the plugs was very high compared to buying genuine parts myself online. When I questioned this, I was told they could fit customer-supplied parts, but at a higher labour rate—which felt a little odd, although it still worked out cheaper overall. On the day, Doug completed the Stage 2 ECU/TCU remap on my Audi S3 8V and said it was one of the easiest S3s he’d worked on, with no issues from either the engine or gearbox. I was given a dyno sheet showing a healthy 410PS / 570Nm, paid, and left feeling happy. Unfortunately, the longer-term experience has been very disappointing. Straight away, the throttle response felt worse than stock. From a standstill, I had to press the pedal around 40% before the car would move, then the clutches would suddenly grab around 2,000rpm—very unpleasant in stop-start traffic. The TCU calibration also felt poor: In Comfort mode, the gearbox now shifts much later than stock and constantly hunts between 3rd and 4th around town speeds (28–30mph), which became frustrating very quickly. On the motorway, gears are held unnecessarily long. In Sport mode, shifts were better than stock and felt more appropriate—but that was the only real positive. I had specifically asked for kickdown in manual mode to remain enabled and for left-foot braking to be activated, but neither was done. At the time I accepted this, assuming it was just part of their tuning philosophy, but in hindsight I should have pushed back. Then came the bigger problem. After around 4,000 miles, the car developed a misfire under boost while overtaking. I contacted MRC, who advised replacing plugs and coils, despite them being relatively new. I did this—no change. I then replaced all injectors, also on recommendation—still no change, with a persistent misfire on cylinder 3. I was then told the injectors needed to be a “flow-matched set”, and that otherwise the misfire would continue—but no real guidance was given other than suggesting they could do this “in-house.” This immediately raised concerns, so I sought second opinions. Two independent garages carried out diagnostics: * Compression test: passed * Leak-down test: failed on cylinders 1, 3 and 4 The issue turned out to be loss of compression through worn piston rings / bore wear, which was causing the misfire under load—not injectors. To make matters worse, when another garage read the map file, they advised that critical safety strategies such as transient knock detection had been disabled, with the tune apparently focused purely on extracting maximum power, with little apparent regard for engine longevity or reliability. Everyone understands that tuning carries risk. But when you choose a company with MRC’s reputation and pay premium money, you expect sensible calibration and safeguards—not to end up needing a full engine rebuild. That’s exactly what happened. One rebuilt engine later, and after having the car tuned elsewhere, it now drives exactly how it should have in the first place. Very disappointing experience overall, and unfortunately I can’t recommend them based on mine. I have no doubt MRC may argue that the failure was down to the car itself rather than the calibration. However, I have owned this Audi S3 8V from new, it had covered only 40,000 miles at the time of tuning, and it had been meticulously maintained throughout my ownership. It had no pre-existing engine or gearbox issues, and was described by Doug on the day as one of the easiest S3s he’d worked on. Given that, I find it very difficult to accept that the tune played no part in what followed.

After trying to get hold of Doug on the phone to ask some technical questions, I was told by the gate keeper ‘Sarah Wells’ that’s not possible, I’m going to be spending thousands…… Like an idiot I made the trip up approximately 80 miles to get a feel of the company and speak to Doug face to face, I’ve never met a more arrogant, rushed person in my life, he couldn’t wait to end the conversation and leave, and for reputable person he didn’t seem very knowledgeable on customs configurations, felt like the file would be simply flashed and dashed l. Keep clear ! ! !
