Came in to get a health check on a prior occasion. I presumed this would include a little more than putting it on the ramp and having a look underneath. I presumed it would give me a reading of the engine health etc especially for the price. But never mind. Anyway came here again for another car to get it tuned. I had pre booked a few weeks in advanced. When it came to the date they had no idea I was coming (despite proof over emails of the booking and time that we had previously communicated and agreed). So they agreed and ended up trying to ‘fit me in’. Ended up waiting for 2 hours and they told me to come back another day. Came back again on the time and day we agreed just to be told the tuner wasn’t even there yet… again sat there waiting for nearly 2 hours before the car was even moved to the dyno. I said I wanted to see the car on the dyno, which they said it will take a while to set up (understandable). Then after having sat in reception for ages they told me to go and have a look at the dyno, so I did. I walked out to see the car halfway through its last run on the dyno. I was told it was finished. I wasn’t happy with this as I specifically wanted to see at least ONE full run on it. Annoying. The tune is fine and got good power gains but after this tune my clutch started slipping which didn’t happen at all before. Literally on the first drive out. Realistically the clutch is probably just on it’s way out so is just one of those things. However I’ve came to find out the torque from the tune is on the limits of the stock clutch anyway. This would have been nice to know before hand. Tune was expensive too, considering I spent way longer sitting around than what they actually did on my car (less than an hours worth or work). Overall, not very happy with my experience here at all. Didn’t seem to care about their customers nor did I receive any apology. Very disorganised and drove away feeling disappointed with the whole experience and service received. Will be taking my future car else where.

Ben and the guys at engine tuner are amazing, helped me multiple times with remaps and exhausts. Have always been a good experience when visiting the place. First time I came I was getting a custom exhaust for my Skoda and John and another chap walked me through exactly what I wanted and made sure they had all the information they needed before booking me in. Ben has always been really informative and helpful when it comes to some of my daft questions so thanks guys and H on the front desk! Definitely recommend being your car here!

Martyn, to educate you. This is not the way you should be speaking to a former customer, which you have so clearly failed, in a family orientated car clubs group page. Yes, this customer had supplied you with a 2nd hand engine to fit and tune. though with the massive air leaks it was mapped with it would appear no pre-checks had been done as claimed in previous company advertisements. Considering the checks would have revealed failures in procedures of the work carried out in your garage. Or how about another customer, who again had air leaks prior to mapping as well as your colleagues not fitting a fuel pump that was bought and paid for. Or the customer that came in for the GR stumble. where a plain bar was fitted as a plug in a fuel pipe dog leg, which fired out of the pipe and covered the engine bay in fuel, on the motorway. Then after 3 subsequent visits, you blamed his MAF, which when taken to another mapper was found to be in working order, the car was mapped and stumble issues were solved. Or, how about the customer you told, well you'll just have to run meth, for it to run right. Well the engine bay was a mess from its visits there, but the crux of his issues was a poor repair to the up pipe, which had holes from poor welding and a crack at the flange, compounded by the use of a cheap single layer gasket between the turbo and the up pipe. again all work carried out there. Once the issues left by your team had been rectified he's never been happier with the car. I have to admit, I've always worked to a high standard in all that I do. Perhaps it is that, which helps me advise and help my friends with their passion for these cars. Unfortunately it seems that at your garage that has been lost, and it has become a very much pay to play environment, which has been letting too many people down. Above are what I've seen first hand with friends that have spent significant amounts with you guys to still drive away with the issues that brought them to you in the first place, there are many more stories I've not seen first hand. It's a shame I always used to recommend you guys, as I believed you worked to a good standard, that simply doesn't appear to be the case these days. I feel rather bad about recommending you guys to people who have then spent rather large sums to not have their issues rectified. To anyone reading this perhaps pause and think, why isn't the club on the door step of a company using them, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions to that.

I had a car that started well but with issues. Had it tuned here and they've done a great job. Very good knowledge and expertise.

I’ve had some great work done by Engine Tuner on my Subaru Impreza WRX. They supplied and fitted a Link ECU and carried out the full running setup with Martyn on their dyno, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The car runs spot on and the whole process was handled professionally from start to finish on numerous occasions that I have visited. I’ve also had a 4-wheel alignment and gearbox service done there and the attention to detail really shows — the car feels properly set up now. What really stands out is that they’re always on the end of the phone if you need advice or have any questions. The staff clearly know their stuff and take the time to do things properly. Highly recommend if you want the job done right.

I took my car to engine tuner to get various work carried out , a bill that should of been £1350 ended up being over £4600 , £2k of that was labour , my car went back 4 times after mapping boost leak problems in 4 places , no gasket on the intercooler this got sorted as I was told , the car was remapped ,lost bhp after the map and boost pressure wasn't included on the 2nd graph. then eml light comes on which I later found out from another mapper that front right tgv valve was stuck shut , rather than sorting or replacing it , It got mapped out instead , I also found that two small boost pipes were still leaking one of which was the wrong size and the other not even a boost pipe which the other mapper sorted out for me, I got told I would not make 300 BHP unless I got a bigger turbo but put in a cold air feed from process west rcm and a hybrid td04 and managed to get 341 constantly which I was very happy with , the one thing that lets engine tuner down is work is not being checked properly and mistakes are being made , I respect Allan for his knowledge on Subarus , but since he has left the role to do the classics , the standard of work is not the same , I'm not saying every one has had a bad experience with there cars but I expected more for the amount of money I paid out and the mistakes made were unacceptable .

Alan I too had issues ves this was over 2 years ago as mapping a car with boost leaks and a fuel pump that wasn't fitted. now yes this did get resolved but 4 days later after that fuel pump was fitted someone did not put the pipe on properly and my car was running badly misfiring and backfiring was stranded for 3 hrs to them find out that this was the cause which is why ive not being back to engintuner. And for other people that have had issues and spent 1000s and my problem could of cost me an engine at that point not impressed. Also had braided brake line done after a month later started leaking, which again this is a big problem therefore this has got worse over the years after other story's and what ive seen

Took my scoob to Martyn at Enginetuner this morning for a 2nd remap after the 1st one produced an issue with the actuator not performing as it should. Ordered & got another independent garage to fit the Forge actuator with the correct load spring as recommended by Martyn. I must stress that Martyn did not try to sell me the part, or suggested that Enginetuner fitted the part, but pointed me in the right direction on which company to order from. Martyn & his staff were absolutely amazing today especially when the dyno run didn't produce the results expected by making sure the spring load on the actuator was set right, completed a smoke test to make sure there were no boost leaks. The final dyno run was very good with a very long power range across the revs. To sum up my review. Martyn & the team at Enginetuner was absolutely amazing. Cannot fault them in their workmanship & their attention to detail. Well done Enginetuner 👏

I recently had a range of performance upgrades carried out on my BMW 435i by Engine Tuners, and the entire experience has been exceptional from start to finish. Their communication, transparency, and customer service were consistently excellent, and I felt fully supported throughout the process. The team took the time to walk me through every step, from diagnostics to the dyno run, and their attention to detail gave me complete confidence in the work being done. The results speak for themselves — my car went from 298.91 HP / 266.80 ft-lbs to an impressive 372.62 HP / 351.40 ft-lbs. Even in wet conditions, the car already feels sharper, more responsive, and noticeably more alive. What really stood out was how positive and straightforward the whole journey felt. No upselling, no pressure, just honest advice, expert workmanship, and a genuine passion for what they do. It’s rare to find a garage that delivers both technical excellence and a great customer experience, but Engine Tuners absolutely delivered on both. I’m grateful for the quality of service and thrilled with the outcome. I’ll definitely be returning for future work and would highly recommend Engine Tuners to anyone looking to get the best out of their car.

Took my F80 m3 down to rob and his team initially for a crank hub fix, rod bearings and a cam alignment but over time got carried away and have been back and forth multiple times. ( I live 90 miles away ) The level of knowledge and passion the engine tuner team have is second to none! so after my crank hub was done I’ve been back for the following: Mishimoto Baffled oil catch can Kwv3 coilovers Suspension secrets top mounts Suspension secrets front control arm bushings Suspension secrets rear control arm bushings Suspension secrets front drop links Suspension secrets rear drop links Suspension secrets rear toe arms Suspension secrets rear traction arms Eibach anti roll bars (front and rear) Brake cooling… They have turned my f80 m3 from a good car to an absolute beast, it’s by far my favourite thing I’ve ever driven. To add to this their communication has been fantastic the whole time they’ve had my car with regular updates and pics

Brilliant service and advice throughout for the wheel alignment and mapping of my MX5 - (td04-19t - ME442). Ben did an amazing job answering my multiple emails with the various questions I had and kept me well informed of progress. Martyn provided an exceptional remap which exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning if I forge the engine and look to increase the boost! Many thanks to the whole team, great job!!

This is my honest review. Take it or leave it. I have nothing against this company just trying to make people aware of my experience, Long story short go to a more reputable company, not one that gets suggested everywhere on Facebook. I learnt the hard way. I now understand why people in Plymouth are travelling up country for maps. Just thought I’d leave a review as I’ve patiently been waiting for this map to be finished, I gave them the benefit of doubt for three days ,£750 for a basic map is crazy. Specially when I specifically said I wanted the burbles to stay, they didn’t. Matey said he couldn’t be assed waiting around another hour for the file to right, so not only is it going to cost me more fuel coming to re tune the burbles I lost a days work , had to cancel plans and change to Friday, to not even get a custom map, just got told the figures and that was me on my way. Didn’t have no organisation and was very unprofessional imo, was confident I’d be impressed with the work , but me nor my mate who’s experienced a lot of mapping are happy with it, I will copy and paste this and leave it on the website. Wouldn’t be bothered had I not got ripped a new ass whole of 650+ vat for one dyno run. Daylight robbery if u ask me. Considering tuning lab did a stage 2 map and gearbox tune for £600. All in all seriously not good and over priced. They’ll tell you get their for 845 sharp, and won’t start your car till gone 12.00.

I recently took my vehicle to Enginetuner for a remap as it was lacking power and very sluggish at low revs. The guys were very responsive and got me booked in right away. They were very helpful and pointed out a few things that flagged up whilst carrying out the map that I would need to address on the vehicle to get the full benefits from the map. The vehicle immediately felt miles better to drive and I was very happy with the service provided by Enginetuner. The only thing that slightly hindered my experience was that post remap, I encountered some minor running faults with the vehicle. I immediately reported the issues to the guys at Enginetuner and it took a little while to get a response. I then felt the response I received didn’t really resolve the issue I had. Overall, I am very happy with the results and the vehicle feels a lot better to drive. It’s just a shame about the minor issues I had post map, as up until this point my experience was outstanding.
